Entrepreneurs’ Organization Opens Istanbul Chapter

The global business network Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) branches out into Turkey with their Istanbul chapter. With this move, the non-profit aims to further exert their influence over Europe and MENA countries.

Founded in 1987 as Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Virginia-based EO operates in 40 countries and connects over 40,000 entrepreneurs.

Mobilera Holding CEO Ferda Katmerlioğlu is to lead the Turkish chapter and is a founding member of the Istanbul branch. Katmerlioğlu expressed his desire to reach out to the entire EMEA region, where he wishes to utilize the resources of the worlds 3rd largest professional network to aid the entrepreneurs it brings together not only in business, but in social and family life as well.

The organization is about to hold an event in Istanbul with the motto “Transform. Transcend. Together.” There is a waiting list for the 2012 EO University Event İstanbul, which will take place next week on 19-23 September.

“According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, we are ranked 45-48,” Katmerlioğlu said, assessing Turkey’s performance. “We are rank 61 in Global Competitiveness Index among 139 countries, and rank 43 in Global Entrepreneurship Index among 71 countries. However, considering Turkey’s potential, it is unavoidable that we will climb up the ladder,” he said.
