"Perfectionism is a serial killer of happiness" -Brene Brown Sometimes we talk about being a "perfectionist" as being a great thing. We talk about it in job interviews like our biggest problem is that we are really just "too good" at things. But by definition a perfectionist is someone who is only satisfied with perfection. It doesn't mean you're perfect… It means you'll never be willing to take risks, or even try, for fear that you wont be good enough. It means that you'll never be able to fully enjoy the people around you, because they wont be good enough. When you are only satisfied once perfection is achieved, you forfeit enjoying the beauty of growth, the beauty of nature, the beauty of the human condition in general. The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.- Anonymous Who is ready for an EMOTIONAL DETOX?? Starting this Sunday I am hosting my very first 7 DAY EMOTIONAL CLEANSE. If no one was watching, if nobody knew would you still do the things that you do? When the people are gone and the pressure is off Are you still as hard?  Or are you tender and soft? People tell me all the time that I'm brave for sharing my story.  Especially after sharing my latest blog post on rape. (click the link in my bio to read it) But here's the funny thing. I don't share these personal experiences because I'm brave.  I share them to become brave. Writing has become my therapy.  It helps me to organize my feelings and let them go.  With every word I write, I heal that wound just a bit more. And find just a bit more courage. But there's a second part I didn't expect to happen.  I didn't expect to find so many friends out there who are experiencing the same pains.  And I definitely didn't expect the amount of healing that comes from that knowledge alone. Shared adversity is a powerful thing. During my darkest days,  I needed desperately to know that I wasn't alone. The words "me too" were like a cooling balm on recently burned skin. So if being brave enough to let 13,000 people see the skeletons in my closet is what it takes to give even 1 person that healing balm, then I am honored to make that sacrifice. 🙏 Wearing: @aloyoga

*pose inspired by the lovely @ania_75 * SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME!! I've worked really hard to find a lifestyle that is healthiest for me. over the past couple months dev and I have been moving toward a raw till dinner diet. We had been eating mainly Fruits and vegetables during the day and veggies with small amounts of grains for dinner. We were only eating meat a couple times a month. We've all been feeling GREAT and were seeing awesome results! And then I got pregnant… All the sudden this weekend, I COULD NOT STAND EVEN THE THOUGHT OF VEGETABLES!!! All I wanted were white breadsticks and soft pretzels!!!!! I can handle small amounts of fruits. I can even handle some veggies as long as there is lots of cream or cheese or meat with a large amount of grains. I know the first thought is 'well Heidi, you obviously need some grains in your diet'. But the thing is, I can't handle the thought of "healthy bread". It grosses me out. I'm wanting Little Caesars greasy white breadsticks. I CANT be convinced that they are at all possibly healthy.😂😂😂 I'm trying to stay open and not eliminate things out of my diet that may serve me. But REALLY??? I just don't buy it. WEIRDEST THING YET : I DON'T WANT DONUTS !!! 😱😱😱😱😱😂😂😂 Anyone else experience something like this?? And how did you stay healthy??
